General Hours

Mon-Fri | 9am to 5pm

Most people think insomnia means simply not falling asleep or being able to stay asleep. It is more complex than that, so here are five scenarios I typically see in my practice from patients that suffer of insomnia:

  • I go to bed and it takes more than 20 minutes to fall asleep. My eyes feel tired, the anxiety grows but I just can’t fall asleep.
  • I wake a couple of hours after I fall asleep. I feel wide-awake, wired, and exhausted. Anxiety grows eventually, wondering how I will be able to face tomorrow.
  • I wake up at about 3am at least a few times a week. By the time I get to sleep again the alarm goes off and I feel as if I need a few more hours of sleep to feel ready for the day.
  • I seem to sleep all night, but I feel restless, always moving around in my bed. I wake in the morning feeling tired, like I didn’t really sleep but rather worked all night.
  • I sleep all night for at least 8 hours but I wake up feeling exhausted. If I have a bed partner, I am told that I snore and even choke at times. I never seem to have enough energy regardless of how much I sleep.

Each one of us experienced great sleep at some point in our life; when you wake up in the morning feeling like a brand new person.  When we sleep well life looks bright and beautiful, motivation is increased and every day stresses are easier to handle.

Acupuncture is an effective therapy for treating insomnia because it can help with all of the scenarios presented above. Acupuncture increases the melatonin production, calms and nervous system, affects the hormonal system, and it can be as affective or superior to Ambien and Trazadone, with no side effects.

I can help you get great sleep, like Thomas Edison described – “as sound as a bug in a barrel of morphine.”

Within only weeks your sleep quality will improve, you will have better energy and your life will feel happier.
