Insomnia and Other Health Problems for Children in the Boulder and Denver Area
Acupuncture for kids is growing more and more popular. Many parents ask me what to do if their child is afraid of needles. The truth is many of my little patients actually enjoy the needles and are curious about them! For the ones that have some fear, mainly from their experience with vaccines, there are a variety of ways of working with them besides needles, such as non-needle techniques and massage.
Acupuncture works well with conventional pediatric care.
Every child’s need is assessed and the proper therapy is used. The treatment itself may last anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes depending on the age of the child and the therapies used, with the rest of the session spent talking to the parent.
Clinical experience shows that acupuncture as being one of the most effective therapies to treat insomnia and nightmares in children. Here are some of the disorders treated with Acupuncture and herbal medicine:
- Screaming at night
- Bed wetting
- Tummy aches
