How acupuncture and functional medicine helps you to sleep better:
Acupuncture has calming effects on the nervous system. It can help regulate sleep patterns and alleviate stress—a common trigger for insomnia. We will address underlying imbalances in the body with regular acupuncture sessions which will not only enhance sleep quality but also cultivate a lasting sense of relaxation and tranquility that carries over into your daily life.
Acupuncture will relax your nervous system by increasing calming neurotransmitters such as serotonin & GABA, and it helps ease anxiety.
It will release endorphins and make you feel more relaxed, which will help with melatonin production.
Acupuncture points stimulate digestion and increase absorption of nutrients, supporting the brain-gut connection and sleep.
Functional medicine takes patient-centered approach to diagnosing and treating sleep issues. We will focus on the root causes rather than just symptoms. I consider factors such: as hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, stress, and inflammation, all of which can significantly impact sleep quality. Comprehensive testing allows us to analyze your unique biochemistry, uncovering underlying issues like cortisol dysregulation, melatonin insufficiency, or gut microbiome imbalances that may be disrupting your sleep cycle.
Primary assessment examines your nervous system with tests that look at cortisol & neurotransmitter markers.
An in-depth analysis of the primary tests, along with a thorough review of any prior results, enables us to identify the most effective strategies to enhance your sleep. These strategies may encompass tailored lifestyle adjustments, incorporation of herbal remedies, and strategic use of supplements, intended to address the root cause of your insomnia.
Final testing will look further into the root cause of your sleep issues, such as: digestion, hormones or toxins.
What to Expect
Introductory phone or video free consultation typically 20 minutes.
